I had a little summer job as a tour guide assistant at Start Point Lighthouse. It was a joyous place to be alive. Getting there was a challenge, up a winding Devon track - one of those roads that my mother would have been apoplectic over.I did not get to the top too much but on a sunny day, the sight of the rainbows spinning in the 3rd order catadioptic lens was really something to see. It is sadly now replaced by an LED. The rainbows are consigned to history. But the change was essential.
