A little bit of history.
This is the restored footbridge at Guards Club Park. in Victorian times it was strung with eel nets. in the background behind Guards club island is a row of charming Edwardian homes known locally as gaiety row. They were occupied by the ladies who entertained the officers who came down from the barracks to enjoy the pleasures of Maidenhead Riverside. The park was also used as a location for the movie Kind Hearts and Coronets.
